VISION, MISSION & OBJECTIVES

It is said – ‘to be born as a human being is by virtue of one’s greatness of his previous birth and to be born with good health is also determined by that. All are not born affluent. Our scriptures say “Udarcharithanamthu Vasudevakutumbakam”, to the generous; the whole world is one family. So it is our duty to help under privileged that need a care. Friends! Come we will unite in this noble cause. And do our best.

MISSION

To lead the overall development of Ophthalmology by:

  • Provide quality and accessible eye care services to all

  • Excelling in Specialized Eye Care Services

  • Becoming a preferred Eye care professionals, Paramedical and Non-medical 

  • Providing services through Advanced Technology by professional team 

  • Preventive Eye care  and Promoting Eye Donations

OBJECTIVES

  • Establish a quality and the high standard vision care centres for providing affordable eye-care services in the region and increase reasonable accessibility of vision care services across society which includes the susceptible population.

  • Advance expertise and set benchmark in the area of eye-care services under the public health care sector and render services in the field of eye care, education, undertake relief work irrespective of caste, creed, race and the religion.

  • Promote better eye-care literacy and eliminate the stigma attached to the sector by introducing various measures through the vision care centers in the primary health care services.

  • Networking and collaboration with various stakeholders such as Health departments, private hospitals, research institutions, universities across the country and community based organizations (CBOs) to provide quality health care consultancy and extend need based services wherever required and facilitate effective execution of eye-care programs.

  • Strengthen and build a capacity among the human resources involved in eye-care services by training in different fields related to vision care services

  • Encourage academicians, medical practitioners, research students and rural youths to get involve in enriching extracurricular learning activities and academic courses such as Diploma in Optometry, BSc Optometry, Fellowship programs in specializations, DNB, MLOP Training and many others. 

  • Provide common platform to young scientists, medical professionals and students to discover new innovations and gain new skills in the eye-care services and expand their position beyond academics.

  • Encouraging deserving students and also differently abled children from the weaker sections of the society through building required skill and enable them to get an employment 

  • Establish, run and supervise the vocational, technical, medical, engineering and agricultural training centers and also undertake social and economic activities especially for the orphans
