Dr. Prabhugouda Lingadalli is eminent Ophthalmologist in the region who dedicated his entire life to eliminate needless blindness. He is the founder of “Anugraha Eye Hospital” Vijayapura and Kalaburagi. He is best known for developing a high quality, high volume, low cost service delivery model that has restored sight to thousands of people.

Dr. Prabhugouda did his MBBS at B M Patil Medical College, Vijayapura. He has received Ophthalmology from Vijayanagar Institute of Medical and Science, Bellary (1998). In 2000 cleared his DNB Exam which is the top exam in Medical field. 

 

Later he served in one of the renowned Eye Hospital Aravind Eye Hospital at Madurai (Tamil Nadu) for two years. In 2001 He was initially appointed as a Lecturer and subsequently held positions as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor in the Ophthalmology Department at B M Patil Medical College.Vijayapura where he served over a Decade.

In 2001, Dr. Prabhugouda established Anugraha Eye Hospital at Vijayapur with the Mission of eliminate needless blindness by providing high quality and compassionate eye care services at an affordable cost to the needy people in the region. Since last 25 years of dedicated services, the hospital is growing and created a milestone with its best services.

 

Later he has pioneered Mobile Eye Care camps as an outreach program by regularly visiting the surrounding villages through which the professionals will conduct vision screening. Those requiring glasses receive them on-site. Patients requiring surgery are brought to the main hospital for further treatments. Through these initiatives, every year nearly 10,000 patients are treated at a free of cost. With all these good intentions, the Hospital has reached out nearly 10 lac people since last 25 years of which more than 15 % people are benefited with the successful surgeries.  

 

For his noble work, Dr. Prabhugouda has been conferred several Awards and Rewards from reputed Organisations and the Government of Karnataka. Some of the illustrated below:
