Born into the prestigious Dered family in Nalatwad village, Muddebihal taluk. Completed primary education in Nalatwad village and secondary education at the prestigious Shri Sharanabasappa  Appa Vidyalaya in Gulbarga. Subsequently, completed a medical degree at Shri B.M. Patil Medical College, and a postgraduate degree in Ophthalmology from  Al.Ameen  Medical College. Later, to gain higher proficiency in cataract surgery (Fellowship in IOL), completed a one-year special training at the famous K.G. Hospital in Tamilnadu. Driven by the desire to provide advanced corneal treatment, Dr. Malini completed 6 months of special training in corneal surgery (Cornea Fellowship) at the famous Navneet Hospital Solapur , Maharastra.

To provide treatment for the eye problems of the people of Vijayapura district, Dr. Malini and her husband Dr.Prabhugouda started their own Anugraha Eye Hospital in 2001. This hospital, which started with the goal of providing affordable, loving, and quality treatment to every eye patient, is now very famous throughout the district after about 24 years.

So far, the hospital has treated around 10 lakh outpatients and performed more than 1 Lakh eye surgeries. Among these, at least 20 thousand patients received free eye surgery, 5 thousand poor women have been provided free cataract surgery and their disability has been cured. For the eye treatment of the poor and destitute, she has started a charitable service organization called Anugraha Vision Foundation Trust; under which regular free eye examination and surgery camps are conducted every month throughout the district. For the past 24 years, a free eye examination and surgery camp has been conducted every year as part of the Shri Amogha Siddheshwar Jatra Mahotsav in Chabanur village, and many eye patients have been treated.

Dr. Malini, who is a social service aspirant, organizes many programs with her team from Anugraha Eye Hospital every year to create awareness about eye donation among the public by conducting eye donation campaigns throughout the district. As a result, thousands of people have been made to pledge their eye donation during the eye donation fortnight celebration organized by Anugraha Eye Hospital every year.

Dr. Malini, a cornea specialist, has established an eye bank at Anugraha Eye Hospital and has given light to 140 blind patients so far by transplanting donated eyes. It is truly commendable that all these surgeries have been done free of charge.

​

Under the Anugraha Vision Foundation, they have already established an eye bank, started a mobile eye treatment unit and an eye assistant training center.
